Cancer Awareness and Psychoeducation (CAPE)

“Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in healthcare is the most shocking and inhumane.”
— Martin Luther King Jr.

About Cancer Care and Mental Health Support

One of our primary areas of focus is psycho-oncology, a specialized field that addresses the psychological and emotional challenges faced by individuals with cancer and their caregivers. In India, where cancer is a growing concern, the emotional toll on patients and their families cannot be underestimated. Psycho-oncology, a specialized field that bridges the gap between psychology and oncology. It recognizes that a cancer diagnosis is not just a physical battle but also a profound emotional journey. It not only affects the mental and emotional health of the person suffering from cancer but also their caregivers. We are actively working towards cancer awareness and eradicating the stigma around the mental and emotional issues faced during such difficult times by people.

Psycho-oncology goes beyond simply addressing emotional distress. It empowers individuals to cope with the challenges of treatment, improve their quality of life, and build resilience. By understanding the psychological impact of cancer, healthcare professionals can provide more comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s unique needs. At We Avec U Foundation, we are committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals affected by cancer.

Counseling and Therapy:

Providing one-on-one counseling sessions and group therapy to address the emotional and psychological needs of cancer patients and their caregivers. Collaborating with clinical and counseling psychologists to provide their services for our initiative is one of our major activities.

Support Groups:

Our support groups involve volunteers, psychologists, social workers, and cancer survivors. Creating safe spaces for individuals to connect, share experiences, and offer mutual support. The support groups conduct various therapeutic activities for mindfulness and mental well-being.

Psychoeducation for Healthcare Professionals:

We conduct psychoeducation programs for healthcare professionals as well. Providing the right assurance to the patients is also a very crucial process during the treatment. We understand that working with such a sensitive disease is taxing for them as well, therefore our program works for the well-being of all.
